Here in the States, we get used to thinking of police cars as, well, crappy sedans that can’t even chase down a Honda Civic. The rest of the world, on the other hand, doesn’t have to buy from the same motorpool that our cities have been stuck with, and sometimes even our own cops are lucky enough to get nicer rides than the standard Crown Victoria. These are 13 bad-ass cop cars from around the world — some might make you a bit jealous.
Mercedes – Germany

Mercedes is to Germany what Ford is to America, and that goes for police cars, too. While you may not see many Brabus Rockets roaming around, it’s not uncommon to see a CLS on patrol, as well as several other models fit for roles from paddy-wagon to interceptor.
Audi – Hungary

Apparently the cops in Hungary not only have good budgets, but good taste in style as well as cars. This Audi TT may not be the best for hauling in perps, but it’s one hell of a way to get a man somewhere in a hurry.
Porsche – Russia

They don’t skimp on things in Russia, and that goes for the police just as much as anything. Using a Porsche Cayenne not only assures that people notice you’re there, but it’s also a good way to make sure you can catch up to whatever you’re chasing.
Dodge – USA

Just because we get used to a thing doesn’t mean we have to be stuck with it. The police in America have been short-changed for decades when it comes to cars, but that’s changing a little with every Dodge Charger that hits the streets with a light-deck on top.
BMW – Netherlands

If you think a BMW M3 is a sexy car that’s fun as hell to drive, well, you’re right. It also makes one hell of a police interceptor, and the folks in the Netherlands make good use of it that way.
Lamborghini – England

What does a police force do when it has long rural roadways and speeders who love fast cars? They buy a Lambourgini Gallardo and paint it with retroreflectives. At least, that’s what the cops in the UK did.
Dodge – USA

Police interceptors out in the flat rural areas of America have always had a bit of leeway when it came to modifying cars or choosing something a bit sportier, but it’s not often that you see a Dodge Viper with a light-deck.
Porsche – Germany

Being home to so many amazing automobile manufacturers has its bonuses. Along with Benzos cruising the city streets, it’s not strange to see a Porsche Carrera S blast by you on the Autobahn.
Lotus – England

England is home to more twisties than a motorcycle speedway, and that can be extremely dangerous for larger, heavier fast response units. Enter the Lotus Exige.
Nissan – Japan

Japan is home to the most dedicated and resourceful sport-compact tuners in the world, so Japanese cops need cars that not only keep up, but catch up. Fortunately for them, they have Nissan Skylines.
Spyker – Netherlands

If you thought that the Netherlands were awesome for their use of BMW M3′s as cop cars, take a look at this Spyker C8. If you’re speeding in the Netherlands and this thing shows up in your rearview, you may as well just pull over.
Peugeot – Hungary

Back to Hungary, where they apparently have a thing for roadsters. A serious thing. This time it’s a sexy-as-hell Peugeot RCZ, and it means business.
Ford – USA

The Ford Mustang, despite the many different generations its gone through design-wise, has been an American staple for decades. It’s about time the cops start making use of them.
