Car Searched Due to Rubber Bands – $1.2M in Cocaine Found

by admin on November 29, 2010

Nestor Luis Merced-Calderon, 32, was driving a black 2004 Volvo through southeastern Pennsylvania, trying to look inconspicuous, when he was pulled over. The reason the cop stopped him? The placement of his GPS unit was improper. No big deal, right?

During the stop, Officer David Chee noticed Merced-Calderon had some rubber bands in the car. Since they were the type of rubber bands commonly used to bundle up cash, he decided to search the car. Inside the car, cops found $3,000 in cash and $1.2 million in cocaine.

After shitting approximately one ton of bricks, Merced-Calderon was arrested on a felony drug charge. He’s being held on $8 million bail.
